Welcome to South Range Local Schools, where students, staff, families, and community members work together to live out the Raider Way and continue Getting Better Every Day.

From academic achievement and student activities to dedicated staff and behind-the-scenes operations, these snapshots provide a glimpse into what makes South Range a special place to learn, work, and belong. During the 2024–2025 School Year, our staff created profiles for each building and/or department! Though this is just a snapshot in time, learn more about why we have so many reasons to celebrate!

📚 A Culture of Learning & Achievement

Across South Range, students celebrated academic growth, achievement, and opportunities to explore their interests. At the middle school, students celebrated growth and achievement while continuing to outperform state averages in student proficiency. SRMS was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report and Niche in statewide rankings.

At the elementary school, the 2024–2025 year included strong OST and alternative assessment results, a first annual Art Show, new mathematics programs, and the recognition of staff who have dedicated decades to South Range students. The elementary staff represented 744 combined years of educational experience.

Learning Goes Beyond the Classroom

South Range students found many ways to connect, contribute, and discover new interests.

At the middle school, students participated in an E-Sports Club, STEM, an International Cooking Club, Power of the Pen, English Festival, and more. Students even collected bottle caps to provide new picnic tables for their school.

The middle school also launched a Kindness Campaign, encouraging students to recognize how their words and actions help create a culture of respect and care.

At the high school, students and staff celebrated accomplishments in speech and debate, drama, show choir, athletics, and academics. The year included national qualifiers in Speech & Debate, a Headstown drama team, a Greatest Showman performance, a football Final Four appearance, state cross country and track participants, and another successful softball playoff run.

🏫 A School Is More Than Its Classrooms

Some of the most important work happens behind the scenes.

South Range's custodial and maintenance teams worked to keep our schools clean, safe, functional, and welcoming. During the year, the district completed major projects including geothermal work and a Wi-Fi update, while staff continued to look for new and creative ways to serve our students and schools.

Our transportation team also plays an essential role in the Raider experience. Drivers travel approximately 8,000 miles per year, while district transportation completes more than 4,000 miles in extracurricular trips annually. The transportation department also makes time to build relationships with students through activities such as Driver Appreciation Day and special events.

Taking Care of Our Students

South Range's food service program served more than 15,000 breakfasts and 83,000 lunches during the 2024–2025 school year. The district also received five healthy meal incentive awards and was recognized on the Healthiest Schools in America list for 2025.

The program continued to evolve with new menu options and plans for raised garden beds, providing additional opportunities to connect students with healthy food and hands-on learning.

A Community That Celebrates Together

Perhaps the best snapshot of South Range is the way our people come together.

Students raised $3,900 through the Pops for Pets community service project, while the middle school promoted kindness and community spirit.

At the high school, staff and students demonstrated tremendous school spirit through athletics, the arts, academic celebrations, and countless activities throughout the year.

And across every building, one common theme emerged:

South Range is a community where people care about one another, celebrate one another, and work together to make our schools better.

Behind every statistic, award, event, project, and accomplishment are the students, teachers, support staff, administrators, families, and community members who make South Range what it is.
